New Etsy Store

Well, after two years of saying I was going to and didn't, I have finally opened an Etsy Store. My link is to the right of this post. I am so excited. I anticipate more viewing than anything, but thats ok with me. Any exposure is good exposer I say. I used to sell alot on ebay a few years ago, but it died out slowly and I had so many other things I was getting into, I rarely had any time to work with my art. I have so many paintings around my house now, I have built up quite a collection to sell. I will try and list some original work. I did a few shows last Christmas, but found I wasn't hitting the right audiences. Most people would say to me, " I love your work, you should be somewhere else" like not in a school auditorium....haha. I thought at the time, it would work, and I did sell alot of knick knack items, but my larger paintings were to expensive for trinket shopping. I also work in an art gallery, custom framing shop, that's where i put my cards with my artwork on them. They sell quite well and I keep up with the demand. So we will see how this goes, and I guess I have nothing to loose and everything to gain.
Have a great day and don't forget to visit.

Something New For Me

Good Morning. This weekend I had a blank piece of board on my easel and wanted to try something new. I love to draw faces and people and have been wanting to take a life drawing class. I never seem to have the time with everything else going on, kids, work, same as everyone else. When I thought, I have so many subjects in the house to draw. My daughter was only to eager to pose for me. This is what I ended up with last night. A collage of left over papers and magazine cutouts with a pose of my daughter in the middle. I am going to try and get my husband to pose next. Enjoy and stay tuned for more.

I Illustrated my First Childrens Book

Happy New Year everyone. I illustrated my first childrens book! Actually I did it as a Christmas present. My daughter wrote it and I drew the pictures. Its not published....yet.....well its a beginning to hopefully a new career I hope to pursue. Its a story about a giraffe and how he gets stuck in vines. I posted a few random pages from it. Enjoy!

She Just Came Out of the Paint

This little fairy literally just popped out of the painting. I was experimenting again, and just painted away mixing greens and blues and golds. I left lots of water and paint overnight on the surface not knowing what was going to happen. This morning I started to sketch and wala, she just came out. Her face is so sweet, and once again, I wish you could see the shimmery golds and greens that shine ever just so softly. I have been painting on small sizes of watercolor paper sized at 4 x 5.5, so I don't have to invest a ton of time on it. That way, I can move on quickly to the next one.

Just Breath

This painting was an experiment with new sparkly paints that I recently bought. I wish you could see the shimmer this painting brings. I first experimented with the yellow and green sparkle paint with regular watercolors on a pre-stretched watercolor paper. I sprayed water and just mucked around, then I stamped into the paint with the letters to spell Breath, and waited for the paint to dry. I then studied the painting and found an angel it the paint. I sketched her right into the abstract paint. Shes so soft and loveable. Enjoy!
